Malta Fireworks Festival Boat Trip – Grand Harbour Finale (April 30)
Experience the Malta Fireworks Festival Finale from a Boat in Grand Harbour
Every year, Malta hosts one of the most spectacular fireworks events in Europe: the Malta International Fireworks Festival. In 2026, the festival takes place from April 18 to April 30, bringing together professional fireworks teams from all over the world competing for the prestigious Malta Fireworks Award.
The absolute highlight?
The grand finale on April 30 in Grand Harbour, Valletta.
And trust us — this is something you don't want to miss.
But there's one way to experience it at its absolute best: from the water.
That's why we're organizing a boat trip to Grand Harbour, giving you a unique front-row view of hours of spectacular fireworks.
⚠️ Important: This boat sells out every year well in advance, so make sure to reserve your tickets early.

What is the Malta International Fireworks Festival?
The Malta International Fireworks Festival is one of the island's most famous annual events. Fireworks teams from different countries showcase their skills in breathtaking, fully choreographed shows.
Each team gets 15 to 25 minutes to present a complete performance featuring:
-
Fireworks
-
Music
-
Choreography
-
And even drones (new this year)
This is not your typical New Year's Eve fireworks display.
These shows are perfectly synchronized to music, often combined with live singing and even orchestras, creating a true "concert in the sky."
Together, the performances create hours of continuous fireworks above Valletta.
The breathtaking setting: Grand Harbour, Valletta
The grand finale takes place in Grand Harbour, one of the most beautiful natural harbours in Europe.
Fireworks are launched between:
-
The historic bastions of Valletta
-
The Three Cities
-
The iconic Fort St. Angelo
This creates a natural amphitheatre, with fireworks reflecting off the water and lighting up the entire skyline.
Thousands of people gather along the waterfront to watch.
But here's the downside:
-
It gets extremely crowded
-
Seating is limited (and often paid)
-
You'll likely be standing in large crowds
Tickets will be available from March 24 at 12:00.
There is a chance tickets may become available earlier. Leave your details and we'll email you as soon as they go live!
The best way to watch: from a boat
Only a limited number of boats are allowed to anchor inside Grand Harbour during the finale.
We've secured spots on the beautiful catamaran SEA BREEZE, offering you a unique viewing experience right on the water.
From the boat, you'll enjoy:
-
Unobstructed views of the fireworks
-
No large crowds
-
A relaxed and comfortable atmosphere
With fireworks synchronized to music from a floating stage, it truly feels like you're in the middle of the show.
The boat trip: Bugibba → Valletta
To make the evening even more special, we set sail on a luxury catamaran towards Valletta.
Along the way, you'll pass:
-
St. Julian's
-
Sliema
Both beautifully lit at night.
As we enter Grand Harbour, you'll be surrounded by Valletta's impressive 15th-century fortifications rising above the water.
That's when the real magic begins.
